Ticket Sales

When your favorite artist is planning a tour, you may be excited to go out and buy tickets for the event. The very best way to get great tickets is to find out about ticket sales and be the first in line. This isn´t always possible, mainly because there can only be one person who is first. What can you do? Many ticket sales are online was well as at the box office. Ticketmaster is a common place to find tickets when they first go on sale. Most tickets, at least in my experience, go on sale at ten AM sharp. The most common days are Saturday and Monday.

Some artists or venues don´t like to use Ticketmaster because of their high fees. Each ticket purchased through Ticketmaster is subject to their convenience fees. If you look at this amount on your ticket, you can see that Ticketmaster makes a tidy sum on ticket sales. When they choose another way to sell tickets, they have a few options for ticket sales. Some venues or artists will choose to use Tickets.com. Tickets.com is somewhat like Ticketmaster, but is less stressful, and the fees tend to be less than those Ticketmaster charges.

The other option is for the ticket sales to go through the venue only. This will include both in-person ticket sales at the box office, and offering the tickets online at the venue´s website. These often go smoothly, and I have often gotten my best seats through these types of sales.

It used to be that if you were online at ten AM sharp for Ticketmaster ticket sales, you could get pretty good seats. That has changed a bit. This year, Ticketmaster seems to be holding seats back at the initial ticket offering. I´m not sure if this is the case, but the last time I bought tickets through online ticket sales, it took me forty-five minutes to find seats on the floor of the venue.

If you simply cannot show up in person, you are scared of buying tickets online, or you simply forgot about ticket sales, you do have another option. There are a variety of ticket brokers online that sell through individual websites or on eBay. These tickets will cost you twice or three times the face value. Sometimes the prices are outrageous. If you have the money, this might be the way to go. When general ticket sales yield you horrible seats, ticket brokers can offer you better seats. You´ll pay more, but you will also have a choice of where you want to sit. It´s really a personal decision. Some plead that ticket brokers should be shot, but if you really want to see a sold out show, they may be your only option.
